Wedding Inspiration: Emerald Green

Wedding Inspiration: Emerald Green

A real emerald themed UK wedding!

We’ve fallen head over heels for Pantone’s Colour of the Year: Emerald Green. This saturated, versatile hue grounds your wedding décor with style, whether you go bold with big splashes of it or use it as a lovely accent that delights. The colour is, according to Pantone, "Lively. Radiant. Lush… A colour of elegance and beauty that enhances our sense of well-being, balance and harmony." We concur! You can use it with a palette of lime green, turquoise and other bright greens to energise your day. Or choose a sophisticated motif with earthy brown, cream, grey and charcoal.

Here are some inspiring ways to get in the mood for emerald for your wedding:

Envious emerald

Your ’maids will be the talk of the town in this richly hued Dessy Style 2880 bridesmaid’s dress. The colour works well, whether your ladies are dark-haired and fair-skinned, or bronzed and blonde—there’s literally no one it won’t flatter!

Heel, girl

Go gaga for these Jimmy Choo 'Diva' Sandals in Emerald. Jimmy named it well—the pair is straight-up diva-liscious. We can see your aisle strut now. Note of advice: pack a change of shoes for dancing later in the evening so your tootsies don’t scream for help, and you can fully enjoy the experience.

Gingham style

In addition to using it as a solid colour, emerald can be incorporated through patterns, like micro-gingham on this Fox & Brie’s Emerald Pointed Bow Tie, which gives it a hint of whimsy. Other ideas: floral, tie-dye, checked, graphic ethnic prints and more! Let your imagination go wild.

Add some greenery

Get inspired by this fabulous bouquet found on Style Me Pretty that mixes a bunch of different greens together. Tip: Place your bouquet in a jar or vase with water and use it as part of your reception décor after the ceremony is over. Way to re-use stuff!

Layer up

You might not want your entire wedding cake to be emerald green—a bit much—but try it in layers. We love this Snowy Wedding Inspiration Cake with Emerald Green Accents found on Ruffled Blog. It’s the perfect mix of sophisticated style and wedding elegance. We love the hints of gold, too. Divine!

Nail it

You’ll be perfectly polished with this Essie "Pretty Edgy" Nail Polish, a funky and surprising addition to your wedding style. Nail colour is the new accessory, after all. Nice touch.

Matchmaker, matchmaker

Make you a matchbook! These personalised matchbooks come in rich green, complete with your names and wedding date in the lettering style and foil colour (silver or gold) of your choice. Take a closer look at the Personalised Matchbooks.

Pop them in your guests’ favour bags for a fun takeaway. Speaking of favour bags…here’s a coordinated option: Organza Favour Bags!

Bubbling over

These adorable champagne shaped bubbles not only sport the emerald shade, they make a great alternative to throwing rice or confetti after your "I do's". Go on, blow the Champagne Bubbles!
