Wording Styles
Wording your invitations can prove to be difficult if traditional wording can not be used, e.g. parents are divorced or remarried, etc. We have put together a few examples of different situations to help you decide.
Invitations
Invitations are usually sent by the hosts of the wedding, we have suggested some alternative wordings below to fit different situations...
Bride & Groom as Host:
Joanne Spencer and William Booth request the pleasure of your company at their marriage...
Divorced Parents:
Mr. Colin Spencer and Mrs. Jean Spencer request the pleasure of your company at the marriage of their daughter...
Brides Father as Host:
Mr. Colin Spencer requests the pleasure of your company at the marriage of his daughter...
Brides Father Remarried:
Mr. And Mrs. Colin Spencer request the pleasure of your company at the marriage of his daughter...
Brides Mother (Widowed):
Mrs. Colin Spencer requests the pleasure of your company at the marriage of her daughter...
Brides Mother (Divorced):
Mrs. Jean Spencer request the pleasure of...
Brides Mother Remarried:
Mr. and Mrs. David Thomas request the pleasure of your company at the marriage of her daughter...
Other Hosts:
Mr. and Mrs. Alan Wright request the pleasure of your company at the marriage of Joanne Spencer and William Booth
Invitations should be addressed to the guests with their names written in full, e.g. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Anderson, a family invitation should be written: Mr. And Mrs. Robert, Julie and Jack. The envelope of formal invitation should be addressed to the wife: Mrs Robert Anderson. The invitation should state 'Black Tie' if your guests are required to wear evening dress. Traditionally, invitations should be sent out to the grooms family and also the minister.
Wedding and Evening Invitations
If you would like to use the wordings suggested, include the Wording Number in the appropriate box on the order form and write the entire wording including names, wedding date, ceremony venue and time, in the space provided on the order form. Keep the size limitations and invitation design in mind when selecting wording.

If you would like to use the wordings suggested, include the Wording Number in the space provided on the order form and write the entire wording, including any additional information, such as names and address, if needed. If you would like to use wordings other than those available, simply write your own wording in the space provided on the order form.
